What Our Members Say …
I have battled my weight since childhood. For many years my goal was to get the number down on the scale because I no longer wanted to be overweight. I wasn’t thinking of my overall health. I tried many fad diets and always battled the yo-yo weight. It was very frustrating. I tried different exercise plans that I didn’t stick to. I ate processed food that was supposed to be good for weight loss, according to the ads. In reality they were making it hard for me to lose the fat.
After not being in a gym for a year, I joined SNAP Fitness. I started seeing results shortly after. I was a member for almost 2 years when Jefferson Fitness opened. I began taking the HIIT class and joined the Lifestyle Fitness Program. As I started learning about nutritional information and begun applying it daily, it became a way of life for me. Now I crave healthy foods rather than the unhealthy ones. It’s been a life change with my weight, stress level, body fat, confidence and strength. I feel so much better. Actually, I feel 10 years younger. I’ve learned that you get from your body what you put into it. If you want to feel good, healthy and energetic, you have to take care of yourself.
When I’m in the gym, it’s my “me time”. It’s not about what others can and can’t do; it’s about pushing me to do what I can. It’s time when someone doesn’t need me to do something, but time I need to do for myself. It has become very self-rewarding. My goal is no longer about the number on the scale. My goals are to be healthy and fit.
I’m doing things that I never thought that I could do. It’s actually simple. I just had to make up my mind to do the right thing for myself and my family. I feel blessed to be able to be a member at a gym with knowledgeable staff that really wants to help people reach goals. I was in the place that many people are in today. I didn’t think I could do it. With the “take one day at a time” attitude and the right resources, I have confidence that anyone can make this change as well.
